Purpose and vision
The purpose of the workshops is to open up new empirical and methodological avenues for research in conceptual change. The workshops bring together scholars, who work on different aspects of conceptual change in a joint effort to understand how conceptual change can be characterized theoretically, how the models developed in the various disciplines work, and how they can be applied to the domain of science learning and science education.
The workshops seek to rethink the details of the accounts of higher learning in light of recent developments in learning psychology, in cognitive science and in the philosophy of science. In addition, the workshops aim to explore the various analytical and computational modelling methods and analyze, whether it is possible to develop extensions of the computational models and methods for description of knowledge acquisition, transformation, and knowledge changes in the process of conceptual change.
